Celtic Folk, modern indie reel with a lilting Genre

Track Insight / Lyrics

I am the hinge of an iron door I have not swung for a decade more The weeds grow thick on the workshop floor The wind just knocks at my heavy door Calico wanderer seeking a home Through the wild clover you silently roam Three colored patches and eyes like a flame Looking for someone to call out your name I feel your weight on my cold grey stone A little stray cat who is walking alone You sniff the air for a scent of a friend Where the long garden and brick walls end The oil is gone and my metal is red The workshop attic is a dusty bed You jump the fence with a soft little leap While the old neighborhood falls fast asleep Calico wanderer seeking a home Through the wild clover you silently roam Three colored patches and eyes like a flame Looking for someone to call out your name The weather is turning the sky into lead A rough winter road is lying ahead The fare is too high for a soul on the street Just a few pennies and four tired feet You find a bowl by the workbench light A warm yellow glow in the middle of night The master returns with a hand on your head And leads you inside to a soft woolen bed Calico wanderer finally home No more through clover you lonely will roam Three colored patches and eyes like a flame Now you have someone to call out your name Close the latch tight Goodnight, little light Close the latch tight
