Track Insight / Lyrics
Dust motes dance in golden light,
Centuries sleep through the day and night.
I stand unmoving, strong and slow,
Watching the world come and go.
Built of earth and river clay,
Sun-baked brick holds time at bay.
Seen the traders come and leave,
Stories whispered I believe.
First the Pueblo people came,
Whispered prayers and called my name.
Then the Spanish, shields of gold,
New beliefs and stories told.
Taos Adobe, weathered stone,
A silent witness, I've always known.
Secrets held within my walls,
Echoes answer freedom calls.
Wind howls fierce through canyon deep,
Winter blankets me in sleep.
Summer sun, a fiery kiss,
Ancient spirit, pure bliss.
Travelers pause, with weary feet,
Seek my shelter, find retreat.
Artists brush with vibrant hue,
Capturing skies of endless blue.
Taos Adobe, weathered stone,
A silent witness, I've always known.
Secrets held within my walls,
Echoes answer freedom calls.
I've felt the tremble of the ground,
Heard the laughter, joyful sound.
Seen the tears and felt the pain,
Life's procession, again and again.
Shadows lengthen, day is done,
Stars emerge, one by one.
Still I stand, a watchful eye,
Beneath the vast and open sky.
Taos Adobe, weathered stone,
A silent witness, I've always known.
Secrets held within my walls,
Echoes answer freedom calls.
Taos Adobe, weathered stone,
A silent witness, I've always known!
Secrets held within my walls,
Echoes answer freedom calls!
Dust to dust, and stone to stone,
I stand here, never alone.
The heart of Taos beats as one,
Until the setting of the sun.
