Track Insight / Lyrics
Raindrops streak the windowpane, blurred vision
The wind whips loose a tartan scarf, a lost romance
In the yard, a dripping tree weeps under the deluge
As you hum a tune in the hollow of your belly
Suddenly a flash, a jagged streak
Thunder booms its primal shriek
Then silence. A ray of gold
Illuminates the old wooden creak
Stormlight's song, it reaches me here
In this rain, in this dark reprieve
Stormlight's song, intuitive guide
Wash away, let the calm slide
Though I'm grounded, though I'm still
My spirit stirs, the world stands still
That flash, that boom— new life's spark
Winter's chill— spring's warm embark
Surging, surging, let the rhythm lift me
In this storm, in this stormy sanctuary
Of flash and boom, of deluge and drought
Where storms ignite a soul's rebirth, and roots
Stormlight's song, it reaches me here
In this rain, in this dark reprieve
Stormlight's song, intuitive guide
Wash away, let the calm slide
Raindrops collecting in a saucer
The smell of wet earth, sidewalk suds
A possum creeps out from behind
As you rock in the storm's wild wind
Suddenly a clap, a hammer blow
Thunder yells its cavernous call
Then reprieve, a sunbeam breaks
Lighting the puddles like shattered lakes
Stormlight's song, it reaches me here
In this rain, in this dark reprieve
Stormlight's song, intuitive guide
Wash away, let the calm slide
Stillness descends like a dove,
Swooping in, the storm's final love
Pacifying the wild symphony
Bringing rest to you and me
Etched in memory forevermore
The silence that follows the roar
Of this storm, of this tumultuous night
When stormlight's song brought you to the light
And so you rise, the morning dawning
The world restored, innocence glowing
The memory of stormlight's hymn
Woven like a blessing, safe within
