Track Insight / Lyrics
A single can, shaped like a heart
With blunted spout and peeling paint
Lies forgotten, a relic of the past
A patient waiting to overflow
[Build-
I bring it to eye level, examine its curves
Dents and flecks of rust, the metal rough and cool
As I point its outstretched spout, towards the counter's edge
Pools of liquid sunlight trickle down
A spark in the machine
Lifeblood for the lonely
In the dark of my kitchen
Sparks ignite to bring light
Reflections ripple and dance across the metal's surface
Ripples of steam, like sighs from something alive
Each bubble a promise of warmth to come
Each drop a step towards rebirth
[Build-
I tilt the can, let gravity take hold
Water overflows, splashing light
As I pour, the excess disperses
Into the sink, now gurgling with rhythm
A spark in the machine
Lifeblood for the lonely
In the dark of my kitchen
Sparks ignite to bring light
This tattered, outdated tool
Carries on a timeless task
An ordinary act, yet extraordinary
A beacon in the void
And as the water settles, a calming stillness
This ancient, faithful friend reveals its secret
Ember within, a persistent spark
In the heart of the machine, life endures
In the stillness, I release my grip
The can clatters softly on the tile
As the sun dips low, the room grows dark
Yet the memory of the spark remains.
