Oil cloth runs slow down polished steel Salt wind remembers every notch Platform benches hold no waiting feet Last train left its ghost in steel rails Silver drinks the dark like lantern glass Witcher breath matches lantern sway Monsters sleep where commuters ran Salt on silver keeps the watch Fingertips trace nicks from drowned hags Each groove a tale the sea knows well Tunnel walls sweat dripping mineral No gulls cry here only distant pipes Silver drinks the dark like lantern glass Witcher breath matches lantern sway Monsters sleep where commuters ran Salt on silver keeps the watch Two voices trade the cleaning rhythm One knew rocks one knows the signs Cloth turns black with ichor and time Neither asks what the other sees Fluorescent flicker dies above Emergency lights pulse slow red Blade catches green like deep water Both men know the night brings teeth Case clicks shut with finality Boots echo toward the exit stairs Morning comes to platform edges Clean steel rests in leather dark Silver drinks the dark like lantern glass Witcher breath matches lantern sway Monsters sleep where commuters ran Salt on silver keeps the watch Lighthouse lens sweeps subway tunnels Keeper's log reads monster tally Witcher's medallion warms cold chest Two solitudes share one dawn Silver drinks the dark like lantern glass Witcher breath matches lantern sway Monsters sleep where commuters ran Salt on silver keeps the watch Salt on silver keeps the watch Upright bass walks slow through empty tile Lantern swing fades into morning light
