Cold wind cuts the autumn air.
Frosty breath is everywhere.
Leather boots on frozen grit.
Watch the yellow signal lit.
Follow where the flashlight glows.
Cutting through the winter lows.
Tracing every red brick seam.
Waking from a heavy dream.
Iron fences rusted brown.
Quiet corners of the town.
Copper leaves on paving stone.
Walking this long beat alone.
Follow where the flashlight glows.
Cutting through the winter lows.
Tracing every red brick seam.
Waking from a heavy dream.
Clock tower strikes a heavy bell.
Stories that the alleys tell.
Silver mist upon the street.
Rhythm of the steady beat.
Follow where the flashlight glows.
Cutting through the winter lows.
Tracing every red brick seam.
Waking from a heavy dream.
Heavy coats and woolen thread.
Midnight colors, deep and red.
Counting steps from here to there.
Coldest salt in winter air.
Hold the beam steady and tight.
Slicing through the heavy night.
One more block to reach the end.
Around the final granite bend.
Old stone walls and mortar gray.
Waiting for the break of day.
Frozen puddles, glassy clear.
Everything I hold is here.
Follow where the flashlight glows.
Cutting through the winter lows.
Tracing every red brick seam.
Waking from a heavy dream.
Trace the red brick line.
Trace the red brick line.
Just the light and I.
Red brick line.
