Greyhound tires hiss on wet asphalt
Jack-o-lanterns grin at bus stop
Shutter snaps the skeletal trees
Orange light on cracked concrete freeze
Puddle lanterns float and flicker
Camera catches what wind murmurs
Halloween rides the night bus home
Black mirror reflections roam
Plastic fangs in gutter shine
Candy wrappers trace white line
Flash illuminates porcelain mask
Driver adjusts his rear-view task
Puddle lanterns float and flicker
Camera catches what wind murmurs
Halloween rides the night bus home
Black mirror reflections roam
Skeleton keys on driver's ring
Turn the ignition, make it sing
Witch hat tilted on back seat
City smells of smoke and sweet
Puddle lanterns float and flicker
Camera catches what wind murmurs
Halloween rides the night bus home
Black mirror reflections roam
Apartment blocks like tombstones rise
Glowing specters in window eyes
Lens captures what naked miss
Autumn's tongue, a purple kiss
Negative strips hang to dry
Chemical phantoms in developer sky
Each frame a spell, each click a prayer
Halloween lives in captured air
Dawn breaks pale on final stop
Lens cap clicks, the shutter drops
Puddle lanterns vanish to grey
But the negatives keep the play
Puddle lanterns float and flicker
Camera catches what wind murmurs
Halloween rides the night bus home
Black mirror reflections roam
Puddle lanterns float and flicker
Camera catches what wind murmurs
Halloween lives in every frame
Cold wind develops what we claim
Negative strips hang to dry
Halloween lives in captured air
