Track Insight / Lyrics

I stand where Quercus once held sway Now asphalt drinks the brine and spray My beam cuts through the desert night Aloes bloom in sodium light Neon Pharos watches slow Guardian where the travelers go Fuzz and tom and dripping sand Steady pulse on shifting land Agave rustles in the wind Tire treads where roots begin I count the cars like annual rings Each pause a season that it brings Echinocactus drinks the rain Oil stains on the desert plain My Fresnel lens rotates the dark A photosynthetic patient spark Neon Pharos watches slow Guardian where the travelers go Fuzz and tom and dripping sand Steady pulse on shifting land No petals fall no leaves descend Just chrome and glass that never end But in my core a rhythm beats Where xylem meets the asphalt streets Morning comes with diesel cloud Silene blooms where exhaust is loud I blink once more my duty done Until the next returning sun Neon Pharos watches slow Guardian where the travelers go Fuzz and tom and dripping sand Steady pulse on shifting land Roots hold fast in broken ground Neon Pharos slowing down
