Track Insight / Lyrics
Shadows cast neon shadows
Ghostly dance upon the floor
Coffee cups cradled like confession
Midnight secrets whispered by the door
I'm just a waitress, waitress with a clock
Ticking away, lonesome and cold
But here in neon, I am bold
Any minute now, he'll come through
Chasing ghosts, dreams we can't pursue
Neon fire in his eyes like a clue
Revealing the mysteries we're made to break through
In the neon glow, we lose control
Heartbeats synchronize, electric soul
Through the neon veil, we make our deal
To move beyond, to touch the real
Counting down the empty hours
Dreading dawn's withdrawing light
All I crave, his fingers tracing ghostly showers
On my skin so pale, so right
I'm just a waitress, waitress on a stage
Performing lives never fully engaged
But here in neon, I am sage
In the neon glow, we lose control
Heartbeats synchronize, electric soul
Through the neon veil, we make our deal
To move beyond, to touch the real
Fear of morning's sharp revealing
Banishing the dream within
But here beneath the glowing ceiling
Our hearts are spinning, connected
I'm just a waitress, waitress entwined
In this dance of souls and time
But here in neon, I am aligned
Any minute now, he'll come through
Chasing ghosts, dreams we can't pursue
Neon fire in his eyes like a clue
Revealing the mysteries we're made to break through
In the neon glow, we lose control
Heartbeats synchronize, electric soul
Through the neon veil, we make our deal
To move beyond, to touch the real
Deep within the flicker, silver x-rays of desire
Aromas of cheap perfume, whiskey and desire
Stumbling through the neon haze
Lost in love's endless maze
In the neon glow, we lose control
Heartbeats synchronize, electric soul
Through the neon veil, we make our deal
To move beyond, to touch the real
Neon dreams dissolve with dawn
Reality creeps back like a dawn
But in my heart, the electric thrill
Remains to guide me through it all
