Track Insight / Lyrics

My steel ribs hold the morning dew Where Bryum argenteum breaks through The tar roof sags with patient grace Time writes in rust upon my face Iron moss grows on my name Slow fire eating steel frame No schedule keeps this heavy heart Just gravity and falling apart Iron moss Iron moss Polytrichum caps the bolt heads tight Soft cushions where the metal bites My brakes are seized by silken thread Where Marchantia greens the dead The cargo doors hang open wide For Oxalis stepping inside No manifest no weight to bear Just nitrogen fixed in the air Iron moss grows on my name Slow fire eating steel frame No schedule keeps this heavy heart Just gravity and falling apart Iron moss Iron moss My wheels sink deep in loam so black No return trip on the track The lichen maps the years in gray While photosynthesis holds the day Plantago cracks the welded seam A botanist quiet dream I photosynthesize in reverse Converting ore to universe Iron moss grows on my name Slow fire eating steel frame No schedule keeps this heavy heart Just gravity and falling apart Iron moss Iron moss Iron moss Iron moss Roots drink the ore Silence grows more
