Steel skin turns a deep red rust
Old wheels grinding into dust
Cold fog wraps the railway line
Where the heavy metals shine
Green leaves break the frozen floor
Open wide the iron door
Sowing seeds in oil and grime
Watching life defeat the time
Calla Lilies in the haze
Rooting through the metal maze
Ancient bolts and heavy chains
Drinking up the winter rains
Green leaves break the frozen floor
Open wide the iron door
Sowing seeds in oil and grime
Watching life defeat the time
Sallow willow, slender gold
Story that the tracks have told
Tonic water, silver dew
Painting everything in blue
Syllables of Latin names
Burning through the rusted frames
Patient soil and steady hand
Turning waste into a land
Hosta leaves in shaded grey
Hold the ghost of yesterday
Mossy velvet on the beam
Slower than a steady stream
Green leaves break the frozen floor
Open wide the iron door
Sowing seeds in oil and grime
Watching life defeat the time
Iron blooms in morning light
Breaking through the longest night
Petals soft on jagged steel
Turning like a heavy wheel
Green leaves break the frozen floor
Open wide the iron door
Sowing seeds in oil and grime
Watching life defeat the time
Iron Bloom.
Sowing seeds in grime.
Iron Bloom.
