Track Insight / Lyrics
Gleaming copper crowns the mist,
Kicking up moats of silvered spin...
Startled seagulls scatter 'cross the bay,
As I, a sentinel, swing wild and gray.
Salt-sprayed winds tug at my weather-beaten face,
As I keep watch o'er love's vacant, echoing space...
Oh, the tales I could tell of long-lost loves,
In ambered whispers that the gulls import from above...
But the stories left untold, oh, how they weigh,
Like barnacles upon my weathered, ancient stay...
I'm the pier sentinel, a copper boy and old,
Watching worlds come 'n' go, stories untold...
In mist, the stories rise and dance and fade,
Leaving memories, like salt, upon my weathered shade...
Love boats dock, and lovers stroll,
Arm in arm, beneath the shining moon's pale role...
But they'll leave with dawn, and I remain,
Forever bound to this inanimate domain...
The ebb and flow of couples, a choreographed ballet,
Echoes of laughter, whispers, heartbeat, and defeat...
Each pair a fleeting firework, exploding in the night,
Leaving only dreams and salt, their love's final light...
I'm the pier sentinel, a copper boy and old,
Watching worlds come 'n' go, stories untold...
In mist, the stories rise and dance and fade,
Leaving memories, like salt, upon my weathered shade...
Time stands still beneath my watchful gaze,
As seagulls cry, the waves crash, and lovers' sighs amaze...
But memories, they linger, drawn by moonlight bright,
Until the dawn arrives, and love takes flight...
Oh, I'm the pier sentinel, a copper boy and old,
Watching worlds come 'n' go, stories untold...
In mist, the stories rise and dance and fade,
Leaving memories, like salt, upon my weathered shade...
Fading whispers, lingering tears, and shores that grow gray,
As I, the wind-whipped pier sentinel, guard love's fleeting way...
