Track Insight / Lyrics
Rail yard's sleeping, freight is laid to rest,
My copper form, a ghost, in darkness blest,
Slowly creaking, shadows dance upon my face,
Echoes of the past in this endless, foggy place.
Perhaps the winds will come, and secrets spill,
The city's whispers, locked, my rusting lips now still,
But in this darkness, I paint haunting skies,
My tales of tales, forever mine, till morning light.
Oh, fogbound vane, forever in this sleep,
Gathering stories, as the world slumbers deep,
Listening for the winds, to set me free,
Dreaming of the skies, where I once used to be.
The tracks beneath me, a steel spine stretch,
Out into the gloom, to where the world breathes and stretches,
Forgotten engines, idle and cold,
Their dreams like mine, lost in this endless, silver fold.
Oh, how my heart, once soared on warm zephyrs' caress,
Through clouds aflame, to wondrous, endless vistas,
But now this is all, that I can see,
The fog, my prison, my monument to memory.
Oh, fogbound vane, forever in this sleep,
Gathering stories, as the world slumbers deep,
Listening for the winds, to set me free,
Dreaming of the skies, where I once used to be.
So let the city pulse, in rhythm with my sighs,
As fog shrouds me in secrecy, and winter's morns arise,
For in this melancholy, lies a song so sweet,
A heart that beats no more, yet still has dreams to repeat.
