Adobe wall holds turquoise door
Chile ristras hang to dry some more
Larrea tridentata stands
Roots drink deep from caliche sands
Creosote rocking, high desert song
Petrichor rising where we belong
Wurlitzer hums and Hofner thumps low
Wobbly guitar bends the night glow
My rhizomes thread through ancient clay
Mycorrhiza sings through night and day
Phloem flows with sugar sweet
Xylem lifts the morning heat
Creosote rocking, high desert song
Petrichor rising where we belong
Wurlitzer hums and Hofner thumps low
Wobbly guitar bends the night glow
Stomata open at dusk call
Transpiration pulls through all
Chlorophyll drinks the starry hue
Photosynthesis starts anew
Arroyo dry waits for monsoon scent
Desert varnish on rock face bent
Juniper berry, piñon smoke
Two voices rise from single oak
Coyote yips at turquoise sky
Roots hold fast as years go by
Silicon and silica bind
Time measured in rings you find
Creosote rocking, high desert song
Petrichor rising where we belong
Wurlitzer hums and Hofner thumps low
Wobbly
