I am the glass in the metal frame.
I catch the flash and I play the game.
Slick oil spills in a purple hue.
I keep the focus, I keep it true.
Wet pavement glows like a polished floor.
One quick click then I look for more.
The shutter snaps with a heavy sound.
The stray cat prowls on the sodden ground.
Calico Chrome in the electric haze.
Lost in the grid of a plastic maze.
Three colored patches in a neon glare.
Sleek little hunter with a steady stare.
He rubs his cheek on a rusted bin.
A jagged world where the losers win.
I zoom right in on a golden eye.
Under a chemical, copper sky.
A scrap of fish from a vending tray.
He claims the prize in a feline way.
I tilt the angle to catch the grit.
The city screams but he doesn't quit.
Flash bulbs pop in a rhythmic beat.
Sprinting fast on the frozen street.
No collar tight and no home to keep.
While the tired city falls asleep.
Calico Chrome in the electric haze.
Lost in the grid of a plastic maze.
Three colored patches in a neon glare.
Sleek little hunter with a steady stare.
The battery dies and the screen goes black.
I leave the alley and I don't look back.
He stays behind in the velvet night.
Waiting for morning to bring the light.
Calico Chrome in the electric haze.
Lost in the grid of a plastic maze.
Three colored patches in a neon glare.
Sleek little hunter with a steady stare.
Sleek little hunter. Calico Chrome.
Just one more shot.
Click.
