Dry leaves skitter past my grille
Iron gate stands cold and still
Blood-orange moon tops the hill
Meter runs on midnight will
Blood moon meter ticks all night
Halloween fare in pale moonlight
Witches walk where headlights sweep
Skeleton keys don't make a peep
Pumpkin grin on dashboard glow
Radio plays demon show
Candy wrappers trace the floor
Meter climbs to twenty-four
Blood moon meter ticks all night
Halloween fare in pale moonlight
Witches walk where headlights sweep
Skeleton keys don't make a peep
Cemetery shortcut saves the time
Marble names catch headlight beams
Ghost hitchhiker waves a dime
Dead don't need no credit schemes
Blood moon meter ticks all night
Halloween fare in pale moonlight
Witches walk where headlights sweep
Skeleton keys don't make a peep
Fog rolls thick on cobblestone
Headlights pierce the great unknown
Vampire bats clip mirror glass
Wolf howl shakes the hourglass
Clock strikes three on church tower bell
Night shift ends but spells don't break
One more fare from gates of hell
Blood moon meter's final take
Garage door swallows rusted steel
Dawn cracks white on cemetery wall
Halloween night drives home the deal
Meter resets for another call
Blood moon meter ticks all night
Halloween fare in pale moonlight
Witches walk where headlights sweep
Skeleton keys don't make a peep
Blood moon meter never lies
Counting fares 'neath Halloween skies
Engine sighs, the night shift done
Blood moon fades with rising sun
